American International School Bombay

The American School of Bombay, founded in 1981 is a private, coeducational day school, which offers an educational program from pre-kindergarten through grade 12 for students of all nationalities. The school year comprises of two semesters divided into four quarters, extending from mid-August to early June. The American School of Bombay is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The US based curriculum is international in scope and offers graduates an American high school diploma, a high school diploma with emphasis on Advanced Placement courses, and/or the International Baccalaureate diploma. The IB Primary Years Program is offered in elementary school and the IB Middle Years Program is offered from grades 6-10. The IB diploma program is offered in grades 11 and 12.

The extra curricular offerings at the American School of Bombay include inter-scholastic sports, music, drama, Model United Nations at the Hague, Student Government, Amnesty International, and Yearbook, National Honor Society, and National Junior Honor Society. Field trips are planned to take advantage of the rich South Asian history. ASB graduates attend colleges and universities in the US, Europe and other countries.

Faculty and staff at the American School of Bombay are fully qualified and experienced, and many of the teachers have advanced degrees. The student body is drawn from 30 different nations with the larger groups coming from the US, UK, Korea, and Canada.

The American School of Bombay is housed in a new building in the Mumbai suburb of Bandra Kurla. The facilities include a cafeteria, 33 classrooms, two libraries, a multipurpose hall/gymnasium, three science labs, a computer lab, swimming pool, playground, and sports grounds developed for basketball, tennis, soccer, and track and field. AS's innovative wireless 'Anywhere, Anytime Learning' laptop program is in place in the secondary school where students and teachers use laptops as an instrument of learning throughout the curriculum. ASB is a pioneer and leader among international and US schools in the use of wireless technology in education.
